Crispy & Fluffy Adventure Waffles: A Kid-Friendly Recipe

The Ultimate Adventure Waffle Recipe
Ingredients
(Makes about 16 waffles-6" waffles)
  • 2 cups (227g) self-raising flour*
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoon sugar (25g)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 5 tablespoons (70g) melted butter
  • ½ cup (115g) of Greek yoghurt
  • (Optional: Add chocolate chips, cinnamon, or a dash of cocoa powder to the batter for extra flavor!)
*We use gluten free flour
Instructions
  1. Preheat & Prep – Heat your waffle iron and lightly grease it with non-stick spray or butter.
  1. Mix the Dry Ingredients – In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  1. Whisk the Wet Ingredients – Create a well in the middle of your dry ingredients and add all the wet ingredients; eggs, milk, vanilla extract, Greek yoghurt, and melted butter.
    Add an optional flavoring here. We love to add white choc chips.
  1. Combine & Stir – Stir gently until just combined. (A few lumps are okay—don’t overmix!)
  1. Cook to Perfection – Pour the batter into the waffle iron and cook according to your waffle maker’s instructions until golden brown and crispy.
    These waffles are super fluffy so you will only need small amounts of batter. Be sure to do a test waffle so the batter doesn't ooze out the side.
  1. Serve & Enjoy – Remove from the waffle iron, add your favorite toppings, and dig in!
